Widow of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Passes Away In Canada

Naheed Nusrat, wife of internationally acclaimed music legend Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, succumbed to illness on 13th September 2013 at the Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga, Ontario. The wife of the late musical maestro had moved to Canada after the demise of her husband and had taken ill since the past one month. She is survived by a daughter.

Born in Faisalabad, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan was an internationally acclaimed Pakistani Qawwali singer who possessed an extraordinary range of vocal abilities. He contributed to and performed in several Pakistani films and later did playback singing for Bollywood. He fell ill in 1997 and passed away in London, England.  

Expressing grief over Naheed Nusrat’s passing, her nephew Rahat Fateh Ali Khan said, “I am extremely saddened by the recent demise of aunt Naheed. She was a devoted mother and a pillar of strength to my ustad and uncle Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. We had always enjoyed a close relationship and I was in constant contact with her even after she moved to Canada. My thoughts and prayers are with my niece and aunt Naheed’s family. May Allah grant her soul eternal peace and give strength to her family to bear this loss.” 

Naheed Nusrat’s body will be flown back to Pakistan in a couple of days for funeral.

Mathira Appears In Hot Bollywood Item Number

Hot and seductive Mathira has also crossed the border to do an item number in a latest Punjabi flick of Bollywood, Young Malang.

After Veena Malik, it is Mathira who has shaked her booty in the most famous Munni style, wearing a sheer ghaghra choli in Indian Punjabi film Young Malang, produced by Rahulinder Singh Sidhu, CEO of RSG Studios.

"Working for the item number was enjoyable and it would help strengthen 'cultural bond' between India and Pakistan," Mathira said. 

Mathira was in Chandigarh last month for the shooting of the song. She had also appeared in a semi-nude photoshoot on Valentine’s Day last year, which created ripples in Pakistan showbiz. While asked about her controversial photoshoot Mathira said that she had not worked to get recognition in a short span of time.

“I always challenge the social norms that confine a woman to four walls in the name of social bonds… I walk ahead of the people and keep pace with changing social norms,” replied Mathira

Aisam-ul-Haq To End His Marriage With Faha Akmal

Pakistan’s famous Tennis star Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi is suffering through tough time in his marital life and has finally decided to break her marriage with Faha Akmal.

Aisam-ul-Haq has admitted that he and Faha Akmal are no more together and he has sent divorce papers to Faha as well. Faha Akmal, who is a clinical psychotherapist by profession, also has differences with husband Aisam-ul-Haq since their marriage on December 17, 2011 and has finally confirmed to end her marriage after the meeting of their elders. Faha Akmal has declared her split with Aisam-ul-Haq through social networking website Twitter.

However, Aisam-ul-Haq has no plans for second marriage and is focusing on his career and is planning to win Grand Slam in the World Tour Finals

Award-Winning Film Lamha to Release on Sep 20th

The film with leading stars Aamina Sheikh, Mohib Mirza and Gohar Rasheed won the ’Best Feature Film’ (People’s choice) awards and ‘Best Lead Actress’ awards for Aamina Sheikh both at its World Premiere in The New York City International Film Festival 2012 and the annual South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) summit’s film festival.

The film Lamha snared the ‘Best Feature Film’ award at the DC South Asian Festival in Washington in May 2013.

The much-awaited motion picture Lamha circles close to the enchanted few whose régimes tend to be amended enduringly. After a dreadful accident leaves them twirling with concern to stableness, with generous compliments for the way they have depicted their painful journey.

Arrest warrants for Shahid Nazir One Pound Fish man issued

 

Judge Khalid Nawaz issued the order on a criminal complaint filed by the Orix Leasing Company in a recovery suit of Rs 6.6 million against Nazir.

Nazir being the owner of Rajpoot Goods Transport got a loan of Rs 6.6 million from the leasing company to purchase trailers in 2007.

During the pendency of the case, Nazir made a deal with the company and agreed to pay Rs 1,034,000 through 11 cheques of Rs 94,000 each. Though, the cheques were bogus and the company then filed the criminal complaint for recovery suit after Nazir defaulted.

The petitioner told the court that the accused was served with notices but he did not bother to reply that led it to file a suit against him. On the last hearing, the court had issued notices to Nazir for appearance which he refused to receive and also failed to appear before the court today.

Shanzay Hayat wins Diamond Design’s Miss Pakistan World 2013

Twenty Three years old Shanzay Hayat Miss Pakistan World 2013, won 3 more sub-titles Miss Popularity 2013, Miss Talent 2013 and Miss Perfect 10. Hayat got the most online votes which got her the Popularity title and then in earlier rounds, she performed the best talent a belly dancing routine and finally the title for the best body.  Hayat will be representing Pakistan in international pageants.

Shanzay Hayat beat out seven other contestants to take away the Miss Pakistan World crown. Hayat said, “I want to shed a positive light and show the world, there’s more to Pakistan then what is portrayed on the media.” Hayat would be representing Pakistan in the Miss Earth 2013 pageant.

Shanzay Hayat was born in Islamabad, Pakistan on January 12, 1990. She has lived all around the world and finally settled in New York City, USA as her residence.

At the 11th annual beauty pageant, renowned Pakistan actor Naumaan Ijaz was the chief guest to crown the winners.

Meera wearing Abaya celebrated Hijab Day

Meera spent around 120 minutes in Abaya to mark World Hijab Day in an event. Several Muslim countries celebrate the World Hijab Day every year on September 4 including Pakistan.

Meera says that wearing Abaya is a part of our Islamic culture and Muslim women should try to follow it.

The event was attended by several others models, but it was Meera who snatched focus of the media while entering in an Abaya. The other models also displayed some beautiful designs of latest and trendy Abayas to promote Abaya culture but Meera took all the limelight of the event.

According to Express News, the participants of an event to mark the day in Punjab Governor House were shaken when they saw Meera wearing an Abaya.

Meera set to star in Pashto Film

During an interview, producer of the film Shahid Khan said that the film has a national focus, unlike most Pashto films which frequently restrict themselves to audiences from the province.

“Meera” agreed to work on the project, despite having other offers of regional films,” said Khan.

Muhammad Kamal Pasha penned the story, Saeed Tehkali worked on the dialogues and Tahseen Khan has been tasked the camera work of the film. Khan said it’s a fact that many actors were now acting in Pashto films. Other famous artists have appeared in Pashto films included Veena and Khushbu.

“The film will prove to be a milestone for the Pakistani film industry,” he said, adding that it was great that mainstream actors were now expressing an interest to act in Pashto films.
