Omar Mansoor Collection at London Fashion Week

This play has two characters, the teenage Butterfly  who falls in love with an American naval lieutenant in Nagasaki. He abandons her, and then returns with a wife. After a first-night disaster, it became one of the best-loved operas.

Omar collected visions of the opulent lyrics of the opera, along its arias, duets, trios, and choruses, and transformed them into his collection for Spring/Summer 2014.

Omar’s collection consists mainly of the two colours, royal blue and black. The royal blue colour depicts the merry days when the couple is together while black represent the gloom in the story. The collection consisted of multiple silhouettes from sleek gowns trimmed with satin to dresses embellished with filigree embroidery and sequins as a synthesis of fashion and art.

A combination of day and evening wear, the prêt line includes both knee and full length dresses constructed using a range of fabrics from Chantilly lace to Satins and Velvet blended with Lycra for the perfect body shape. The photography for this electrifying show done by Shahid Malik.
